The beautiful city of Rio Grande belongs to the wealthy landowner Gregorio Sabater. His daughter, Amanda Sabater, is deeply in love with Arsenio Cuevas, and they are engaged to be married.

A series of shattering events and high passions shake the Sabater's city.

The slums held no apparent future for Rubi, a young girl abandoned and exploited. Victor lives on the other side of town from Rubi. A 0minor accident brings them together, sparking an instant attraction.
