The story of “El Desprecio” starts when Clara Inés discovers that she belongs to a millionaire family and decides to go to the capital city to be reunited with her origins. On the road, she meets Raúl Velandró, member of the family, who will extend his hand to help her and with whom she will experience her first love.

The story begins in the midst of the tropics... where nature, in all its majesty, create and aura of wonder. Dulce María is born there and heiress to her parents' lands and vast fortune.

A love story between Corazón Sarmiento and Aaron Paredes.  She is a beautiful young girl with strong character of a lower class. As in Pigmalión, Aaron tries to convert her as a lady when they meet but as time pass love appears by surprise. Around the couple there is the battle and hate between the two families, the Paredes and the Sarmientoo, who struggle for years.

Eulàlia and Mateu Montsolís are two brothers owners of some cellars in the Penedès region, the Cavas Monstolis. They are members of a rich and respected family. The story revolves around the love story and incest between Eulàlia and Mateu.  As a result of it a son was born, called Eduard.  The Montsolís family can’t allow this scandal from the past comes to light, as it would cause an irreversible damage, so they keep the secret. They do believe that Eduard is a bastard son of a sporadic relationship between Mateu and one of his many lovers, Àngels Estivill. Eduard was raised by family workers, Tomàs and Assumpció.  Deceit, murder, gambling, jealousy ... and murkier relationships between members of a powerful family in the midst of a suffocating atmosphere are the plot of the series.

Carmen Teresa suffers the end of her nine years of marriage when she discovers his husband Miguel Angel, with a lover. This lie gives Carmen Teresa a new dimension for life.

She starts to reconsider his life and his thoughts. At her side she has the company and love of her sisters. This is a story about a battle of feelings and the opportunity to change destiny and start a tough fight to learn how to live in spite of mistakes.
